An Easier Way to Peel a Banana

When grabbing a banana for breakfast this morning, I stopped before I started peeling it. It seems like most people peel a banana the same way. You grab the stem like this and pull back, hoping that it snaps apart cleanly rather than just mushing down.

Most of the time that method works just fine. But sometimes, when it does mush together, you end up with a partly soggy banana and the peel under your fingernails from trying to cut under the stem to open it up. Have you ever wondered if there was an easier way? There is!

Grab the other end and pinch.

Using both hands, gently pull apart in two sections.

It will split right open and then pull down.

You will then have a perfectly peeled banana that will make all the monkeys in this world jealous.

    1. I know! I was impressed when I learned this! FYI: doesn't work too well if the banana is really green or cold....
